Social Diva Media is a lifestyle and entertainment website and email newsletter with content focused on what to do and where to go in major cities. We produce events in many major cities as well as destination events.
SMARTY is a community of women-owned businesses that produces up 12 large-scale events a year and up to 40 small to mid-size events for entrepreneurs based in Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego.
Social Diva Media & SMARTY have partnered up a new initiative to bring interesting, integrated programs to brand marketers.
For this new initiative, we are looking for an Event Sales Specialist in either NYC or Los Angeles. Your territory is open; you will be calling on large brand advertisers. We are looking for a forward thinker someone that can see a bigger picture sale down to a mirco level brand placement. You will be selling multiple publishers as one big buy, you will be selling mostly event placements, with a tie into both Social Media and Online properties. We are looking someone with a strong drive, brand contacts, and creativity. Prior Ad Sales experience required.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
*Develop advertising revenue with a strong focus on event marketing & social media
*Develop unique social media programs
*Cultivate relationships with new and existing advertisers and agencies
*Grow territory revenue to meet and exceed revenue goals
*Create advertising proposals, partnership programs, deliver to clients, and negotiate terms
*Review RFPs and make solid recommendations
*Work with Event departments to create and sell though Event Marketing opportunities
*Participate in industry associations and trade groups
*Have creative ability to sell cross market both on and offline direct to brand marketers
*Produce regular forecast reports and call reports for management
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of conversational media online. They will understand the new dynamics of today’s online media landscape. They will demonstrate an ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently internally and externally. They will have a strong desire to win, keep their territories organized, and continually develop their personal and professional skills.
*3-4 years Event Marketing Sales Experience / Social Media Sales a plus
*Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
*BS/BA degree or equivalent training and experience
*Working knowledge and participation in social media
*Existing Agency and Brand Marketer relationships
*Outgoing and comfortable working in a progressive and entrepreneurial environment
*Strong presentation and negotiation skills
*Strong talent for creating valuable relationships
*Positive energy, a can-do approach, and a real desire for success
