Summer is really when you want your business to be in fighting shape. Meaning….work a couple hours, take a few hours to swim, build sand castles with your kids, hop on a paddle board, take a spin on the boat around the harbor, eat a lobster roll, sip cold lemonade…ahem. In other words, work a whole lot less. For me, entrepreneurship has never been about a level of success involving private jets or multiple homes. It’s about owning my time and my schedule – and not devoting my life to WORKING every second of it.
Don’t we all want this sense of freedom in our lives? Don’t we all want to work less, but smarter, and release this sense of “have to” about where we need to be, what we need to do….so our empires (big or small) don’t all just fall apart?
You do this through effective operations and being AROUND those who are doing it better – and having FUN – who are in your proximity.
Technical short cuts help you do more, faster. Being around successful people who are doing it better (and having fun) is essential.
And “leveling up” – understanding how to scale your model — is essential to ditching the dollars for hours scenario and seeing where you can build in residual income.
Here’s to more lemonade and lazy afternoons!
